boards.station.sony.com/ubb/starwars/cgi...g+Forum&number=4

Welcome to the Star Wars Galaxies Forums!
Before posting please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines. Also we ask that you adhere to our Term of Service (link at top of the forum). Red names indicate members of the Development Team and Blue names indicate Forum Moderators. Remember to use our Forum Search if you are looking for a particular thread or poster and check out our Glossary of Terms on the Community Page if you are confused by an acronym or word used on these boards.
Various members of the Star Wars Galaxies Role Playing community have compiled the following list of guidelines. If you are new here, you should find the guidelines helpful in getting started. Please remember that certain threads (a topic, such as this one) may have different rules than the ones stated here (their new stipulations are usually included on the thread.
(1) Create a character you would like to play.

Work out a background story. There are assorted threads that list characters' bios and inventories, not unlike a roll call. You can use those threads as templates for characters that you are creating. Be realistic. There are many books to reference to stay consistent with a thread’s timeline. The things you own or are able to do should be (Star Wars Universe) realistic, and preferably have been role-played into your possession.

(2) Read a few threads and find one that suits your character.

Be sure to read the whole thread, there might be quite a back-story for you to catch up on. If you enter into an established plot thread it's polite to ask the creator first. Speak to them Out Of Character (/ooc) and ask if you can join the thread.

(3) Once you’re in the thread, be respectful of other characters.

There's no GM (game master) here for you to appeal to, so please respect the other characters. Don't control other player's characters without their permission. If you are in a battle, let your opponent decide if their character got hit and how. Your character only knows what he is told In Character (/IC) and should not bring information that you have learned Out Of Character.

(4) Be patient.

Sometimes it takes those involved awhile to post on these boards. Your online comrades can't be on all the time. Sometimes it may be a day or two before your post is replied to. This is normal.

(5) There are other regulations the people on the boards abide by. Here are a few of them.

A) Three Ship Combat Rule: One person may not use more three ships of the capital class in an attack or defense of a facility. The exception; a player may defend his base of operations with more than three ships.
B) Star Destroyer Rule: No Capital ships of Star Destroyer strength (aka Mon Cal Cruisers) may be sold to or bought by civilians. Of course this also means unless it has been stolen. A non-military (imperial or rebel/republic person) character could not have these ships at their disposal.
C) Only Standard Tech with one exception -- I know there are many people who enjoy research on the threads, for those people new tech can be developed as long as it is realistically RPed over a period of time on the boards. And of course, that is open to interpretation.

The best thing to do is to observe your selected thread before posting.

(6) Other notes

You'll notice threads being locked around 200 posts. This is done to prevent thread and board corruption. In most cases, the moderators will continue the thread with another post (with [Part N] included in the title). If a thread has reached 200 posts without a new thread started, feel free to start up the next part.

(7) Have fun!

There are very little restrictions on Avatars here. As long as you respect the Terms of Service as well as the other players, you will be fine. Have a ball and enjoy the Star Wars Galaxies community!
